“My goal was to create a vanilla like no other. I imagined a dark vanilla bean painted white. In my formula, I have contrasted this rich vanilla absolute with an overdose of modern white powders.
The tonka bean is first ground to powder, before being transformed into an absolute. I use it as a natural powder ingredient. It brings a voluptuous facet to Vanilla Powder and intensifies its addictive character.”

The locally extracted absolute is obtained from carefully selected beans, grown and dried for nearly 18 months between the jungle and the ocean, on Fair for Life – certified land in northeast Madagascar. It offers the olfactive balance Aurélien was looking for: a dark, supple vanilla character, not overly sweet, with a salty facet.
Matiere Premiere perfumes contain between 85% and 92% natural ingredients. They are vegan, phthalate free and without any colouring agent.Â
